Greek Painter, Milly Martionou, Killing It: Abstract Expression

"She is, without a doubt, my favourite abstract expressionist artist today. I have heard others say they all look the same — her artwork. Yet, if that were true, would I have the same intense emotions I feel when I do look at this present body of work?

Like Jackson Pollock, the energy and emotion that created these beautiful works of art exudes from the canvas and begins to pull first at the eyes and then at the soul."

Milly Martionou, Artist living and working in Athens, Greece. She received a degree in Fine Arts painting at the University of Hertfordshire in North London. Her work, compactly overt and unbreakable, involves a series of “layers” on both literal and figurative levels, flirting with the abstract expressionism.

"A FIGHT OF MIXES · THE INEVITABILITY OF PAINT · ACRYLIC TUBES OPENED IN A WORKSHOP – THE HAND OF THE SOUL – AND THIS VAGUE, BUT SO STRUCTURED ORDERLINESS, VIBRATES, MOVES, SWIRLS, IN AN EERIE ATAXIA. THE SO CALLED, COSMIC ENERGY, THE JOY OF LIFE, BREATH AND LIGHT."

On the 30th of January 2015, the Global Art Agency and like-minded organisations are holding a ‘Doctors Without Borders’ Charity Gala event at Blenheim Palace. With the Charity Art Auction we like you to experience a taste of the Oxford International Art Fair (6-8 Feb 2015, at Oxford Town Hall), and making a difference raising funds for the Ebola crisis and other causes. The evening will be held in the Orangery Room of the Palace, and will include live music, a three-course dinner, guest speaker and auction.
